If you haven’t done so already, do yourself a a big favor and check out U.S. Policy World, a project of Foreign Policy in Focus .

US Policy World (USPW) is a web-based, free content project designed to develop progressive policy papers with broad expert and public participation using Wiki technology.

Historically, the development of foreign policy has been left to elites, leaving out the broader public. But since the terrorist attacks of 9-11, the U.S. public has become more engaged in international affairs. Indeed, many analysts view the mid-term election results from November 2006 as one of the few votes in our nation’s history based directly upon a foreign policy issue?the Iraq War.

This trend is likely to continue, with foreign policy a likely centerpiece of the presidential campaign of 2008. Among policy elites, deep debates exist between realists and idealists; neoconservatives, conservatives, and liberals; nationalists and internationalists. Yet the public is more united than at any time since 9-11 that U.S. foreign policy is seriously off track, and needs to be reoriented in a more multilateral, less militaristic direction.

USPW aims to be a collaborative space for the progressive community to develop common positions, language, and messaging around the key foreign policy issues of the day and to monitor the positions of the 2008 Presidential Candidates.

Then, after you check it out, make sure your voice is heard through your contributions to the collaborative project!
