Dana Milbank, of The Washington Post , often writes a snarky – but informative – column, which appears on page two of the paper. He takes a very different look at the day’s events and issues. Today, he seems to be channeling the brilliance articulated by my colleague Becca in regards to President Bush’s speech on climate change Thursday.
While Becca cut right to the heart of the president’s ‘proposal’,
the President’s proposal, in my humble opinion, is a clever bit of obfuscation and political theatre, designed to trick us into seeing action where there is none.
Milbank carefully, often playfully, provides of timeline of Thursday, when several administration officials preceded and then followed the president’s remarks that certainly illustrate Becca’s analysis of ?obfuscation and political theatre.
Kudos, not only to Becca, but to Milbank for articulating the obsurdity of the president’s proposal and the inability of key White House aides to provide a straight answer to a vital global issue that connects us all.
