My article on the President’s UN speech ran in the Washington Examiner .

It includes a 3 step plan for the President:

1. He can ensure that the U.S. provides the International Criminal Court with the information it needs to bring Salah Gosh and other perpetrators to justice.

2. He can urge the secretary of state to ensure that the issue of Darfur is at the top of the U.S. foreign policy agenda during sessions with strategically important countries such as Russia and China.

3. He can follow the advice of Tim Wirth, president of the U.N. Foundation, who urges the president to “address the massive funding shortfalls to U.N. peacekeeping to ensure the mission in Darfur has the resources it needs to deploy quickly.”
