The Next Chapter for CGS Chapters: Building Stronger Connections and Working Together for a Better Tomorrow

Citizens for Global Solutions hosted a virtual gathering focused on strengthening and expanding its network of local chapters across the United States. With 75 years of advocacy behind it—from campaigns for nuclear disarmament to a key role in the Coalition for the International Criminal Court—CGS turned its attention to ensuring its grassroots membership remained vibrant and engaged as the world confronted urgent challenges including the climate crisis and conflicts around the globe.
Event Description
The event brought together existing chapter members, prospective organizers, and CGS supporters to discuss strategies for local engagement and national impact. Moderated by CGS Executive Director Rebecca A. Shoot, the session explored how chapters could deepen their connections to one another while contributing to the organization’s broader advocacy mission. Attendees learned about opportunities to participate in national advocacy initiatives and to support international world federalist campaigns, including Law Not War and Mobilizing an Earth Governance Alliance. CGS emphasized that its chapters had always been the organization’s greatest strength, and that 2024 marked a renewed commitment to providing existing chapters with exciting new programming while supporting the formation of new chapters nationwide. Participants also learned about CGS’s flagship journal, Mondial, which had been earning recognition from the world federalist community.
