Mondial Journal (Winter 2025)

March 1, 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST

This special World Citizen Book Club session, held on March 1, 2025, featured a discussion of the Winter 2025 edition of Mondial with several of the issue’s contributing authors. The session provided an opportunity to engage directly with the writers and explore the ideas presented in their articles.

About the Book

Mondial is a semi-annual journal published by the World Federalist Movement-Canada in collaboration with Citizens for Global Solutions. Its name derives from the French word meaning “of or involving the whole world,” and it serves as a platform for thought leaders to address pressing global challenges. The journal focuses on world federation, disarmament and peace, human rights, United Nations reform, strengthening international institutions and world law, and the environment, united by a shared vision of democratic world federation.

Discussion Highlights

Participants engaged with four authors from the Winter 2025 edition, each bringing distinct expertise to the conversation:

  • Emlyn Koster on Toward An Earth-Human Ecosystem (Pages 19–21), exploring frameworks for understanding humanity’s relationship to the planet
  • David Gallup on World Citizenship: A Recent Phenomenon With Ancient Roots (Pages 17–18), examining the evolving concept of global citizenship
  • Hannah Fields on A Tale of Two Summits: Civil Society’s Role in the UN’s Summit of the Future (Pages 9–11), assessing civil society participation in UN reform
