Citizens for Global Solutions continued its partnership with the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) to present and discuss the 2024 Global Peace Index (GPI). The report revealed that the world stood at a crossroads, with 97 countries deteriorating in peacefulness—more than in any year since the index’s inception in 2008.

About This Conversation

The Global Peace Index is the most comprehensive data-driven analysis of global peace, covering 163 independent states and territories representing 99.7 percent of the world’s population. First launched in 2007 and developed in consultation with an international panel of peace experts, the GPI uses 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators grouped into three key domains: Ongoing Conflict, Safety and Security, and Militarization. This session featured a presentation of the 2024 findings followed by a Q&A with the audience.
