I have headed over to the United World College-USA where I will be running a couple of workshops on war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity at a conference sponsored by the New Mexico Amnesty International groups.

The UWC is a very interesting school that really lives up to its ambitious vision statement. This paragraph gives you a sense of their mission:

“educating a diverse student body from countries around the world and from throughout the U.S., setting the standard for international education and creating a network of grassroots leaders whose interpersonal relationships will strengthen the prospects of international harmony and peace. We continually seek imaginative, meaningful innovations in our programs, in how students develop academically, socially, and in their orientation to serve others.”

Goodness knows we need more imagination and invocation to tackle the challenges facing the U.S. and the global community. I hope to be inspired!
