A Principle-Driven World Federation of States

At the CGS 2022 Annual Conference, Sovaida Ma’ani Ewing presented her original model for a principle-driven world federation of states. As the founding director of The Center for Peace and Global Governance, an international lawyer, and a member of the CGS Board of Directors, Ewing brought a distinctive perspective to the conference’s exploration of world federation models.
Event Description
Among the various models of world federation presented at the conference, Ewing’s stood out as the most contemporary and the only one created by its presenter. Her model envisions a world federation grounded in shared ethical and spiritual principles, arguing that humanity has been progressing through stages of collective growth toward integration and unity. She proposed that the next step toward maturity requires establishing collective decision-making institutions that can evolve into a world federation of nation-states.
