Although many believe that war is inevitable, there are steps that nations can take to foster peace and security around the world and to eliminate the possibility of war.

Genocide prevention empowers individuals in the fight against genocide, the deliberate and systematic extermination, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, religious, or social group.

Effective civilian protection is crucial for securing human rights in war zones, durable peace agreements and the success of peacekeeping operations.

UN Peacekeeping missions are one eighth the expense of fielding a comparative US force. More US support would allow peacekeepers to improve their ability to protect people.

The possibility of the deployment of nuclear weapons remains the greatest threat to life on earth. Support the President’s plan to work toward a “world without nuclear weapons.”

Conventional arms kill more people a year than nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, yet they receive less public attention. Help us promote strong multilateral arms control treaties.
