110th Congress - H.R. 459:
LEGISLATION: To deny the foreign tax credit and the benefits of deferral to companies doing business in Sudan
H.R. 459 introduced in the House by Rep. Charles Rangel (NY-15) on January 12, 2007
This bill seeks to amend the IRS code to prevent U.S. companies from dealing with Sudan and its rogue government by revoking these business’ access to certain tax breaks. These revocations would be in place until the U.S. Department of State should deem that the Sudanese government’s participation in the genocide taking place in Darfur has ceased.
