Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH)A+

Senator Shaheen sponsored legislation that extends the Iraqi and Afghan Special Immigrant Visa programs and a resolution in support of International Women's Day. Shaheen also spoke at the Disabilities Convention promoting protection for all people. She sponsored the Energy Savings and Industrial Competitiveness Act, which will spur the use of energy efficient technologies in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors in order to save money and lower consumption. In addition, Shaheen sponsored the Next Generation Cooperative Threat Reduction Act calling for a program related to nonproliferation efforts in the Middle East and North Africa.

Benjamin Cardin (D-MD)A+

Senator Cardin is an avid supporter of the values and ideals shared by Global Solutions Action Network. He is Co-Chair of the Helsinki Commission and therefore heavily involved in the formation of U.S. development policy regarding democracy, economics, security, and human rights. The Senator's sponsorship of the Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act, which seeks to sanction individuals responsible for extrajudicial killings, torture, or other gross violations of human rights in Russia, is a shining example of his commitment to promoting peace and adherence to international law.

Furthermore, Senator Ben Cardin has advocated strongly on the Senate floor for U.S. leadership in responding to mass atrocities and the need to ratify the Disability Treaty. Lastly, he has endorsed the establishment of a U.N. Parliamentary Assembly, which speaks volumes to Global Solution Action Network's most inherent ideals stemming from our World Federalist history.

Barbara Boxer (D-CA)A+

Senator Boxer is the Chairwoman of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee. She's chaired joint subcommittee hearings on Russia's deteriorating human rights record and sent letters to Russian President Putin on these issues. She has authored and co-authored numerous other letters to officers voicing strong support for human rights. Senator Boxer also sponsored the Malala Yousafzai Scholarship Act, legislation designed to expand scholarship opportunities for disadvantaged young women in Pakistan.

Likewise, he has sponsored numerous bills and legislation to promote human rights, peace, and stability around the globe. Some of his most noteworthy sponsorships include H.R. 1692 Sudan Peace, Security and Accountability Act of 2013; H.R. 881 to ban the use of cluster munitions; H. Res. 418 to protect the Rohingya minority in Burma; and, the Afghanistan Combat Operations amendment to H.R. 1960 which ensured all Afghanistan combat troops are home by 2014.

Jim McGovern has furthermore devoted time to presenting speeches on the House floor to commemorate UN International Human Rights Day and at the NED on human rights and democracy in Bahrain. He has also authored various letters and Dear Colleagues in the interest of garnishing support for humanitarian aid in Syria; continuing UN High Commissioner of Human Rights mandates in Colombia and funding for UNHRO in Honduras, Mexico, and Columbia; Colure of Guantanamo Bay; and support of defeating the Lord's Resistance Army. The representative has additionally issued a report on the labor and human rights of Colombia entitled Failing on the Ground. Congressman Jim McGovern is a valued proponent of ensuring the United States plays a responsible and cooperative role in the world.
