How did you hear about Citizens for Global Solutions Flash Contest?

Was this your first Flash piece? How did you first learn Flash?
Freedom, I played around with flash the end of my sophomore year.

How did you choose your topic –OR- Why is your topic important to you?
Illiteracy plays a big role in all societies. Lack of education leads to future problems in both individual and global standpoints.

Before the contest, did you consider yourself fairly knowledgeable about global issues? Has this contest opened your eyes in any way?
By researching and developing the flash animation, Jason and I gained more knowledge on the effects of illiteracy.

Did you have any weird, funny, horrible, or in some other way memorable moments during the making of your Flash piece for this contest?
Pulling two all-nighters and laughing hysterically from doing so were definitely the most memorable moments.

Any last words/Anything else you’d like for us and the flash viewers to know?
Take advantage of the educational system the United States has to offer.

Yes, Roman taught me the basics

How did you choose your topic –OR- Why is your topic important to you?
Illiteracy felt like an understated issue with AIDS, hunger, poverty, etc. taking up most of the UN's agenda. So we decided that illiteracy was something we'd like to bring out more in terms of showing others that it is in fact a serious global issue that shouldn't be ignored or put aside.

Before the contest, did you consider yourself fairly knowledgeable about global issues? Has this contest opened your eyes in any way?
Yes. It opened my eyes to the specifics of how, what, and why certain things are listed as serious global issues

Did you have any weird, funny, horrible, or in some other way memorable moments during the making of your Flash piece for this contest?
We stayed up a few consecutive nights since night-time was the only available time we could work on it together. after about two nights, Roman was so loopy, out efficiency reversed.

Any last words/Anything else you’d like for us and the flash viewers to know?
Thank you very much for your time, and I'm glad to know that you know Roman...for some reason I was skeptical when he told me he was acquainted with Global Solutions.
