Citizens for Global Solutions has reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Metrodome for the nights of Friday, October 26th and Saturday, October 27th. The hotel is conveniently located just minutes away from the University of Minnesota campus.
October 5th was the deadline to receive the discounted rate with our room block. There are still rooms left in our block, but are only available at the hotel's regular rates.

From the Airport to the Hotel
Taxi: Taxis are available from the airport. The ride takes 15 minutes and costs approximately $30.
Shuttle: Super Shuttle is available for door-to-door service. The current cost is $15 one-way per person. (Please note: The shuttle does stop at other hotels along the way.)
Car rental: Car rental may be done at the airport. Parking at the hotel is available in the municipal ramp adjacent to it. The current rate for overnight parking is $12 for a 24-hour period. The adjacent parking ramp is the property of the City of Minneapolis and not that of the Holiday Inn Metrodome.
Driving Directions from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport:
>>> Exit airport in left lane on Highway 5
>>> Merge right and follow signs toward Minneapolis
>>> Exit on Minneapolis Highway 55 (Hiawatha)
>>> Continue on Highway 55 in the right lane
>>> Exit 17C (3rd Street/U. of Minnesota/Washington Ave.)
>>> Follow the center lane to UOM West Bank
>>> Turn right onto Washington Avenue
>>> Turn left at the first stop light
Light Rail Train: You may take the light rail from the airport to the Metrodome Stadium several blocks from the hotel. The cost is approximately $2 per person and takes around 25 minutes. However, you will have to call the hotel for pick-up at the Metrodome and waiting times depend on current shuttle availability.
From the Hotel to the Humphrey Institute
While the Friday night Welcome Dinner will take place at the Holiday Inn, the remaining programs on Saturday and Sunday will take place at The University of Minnesota’s Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs.
Walking*: The Humphrey Center is just two blocks from the Holiday Inn. Walking takes approximately 5-10 minutes and the following are directions from the hotel to the Humphrey Institute.
>>> Exit hotel and take a left on S. Washington Avenue, passing Grandma’s Restaurant on your left.
>>> At the stoplight, take a right onto S. 19th Ave.
>>> Cross over the bridge and the Humphrey Center is on your left at the first stoplight.

Shuttle: For conference participants needing assistance traveling between the hotel and the Institute, the Holiday Inn Metrodome provides a free shuttle within 3 miles of the hotel. This may be requested the night before, however space cannot be guaranteed until then. In addition, Citizens for Global Solutions staff and volunteers are available to shuttle participants needing assistance. Please contact Lisa Hall at 202-330-4120 if you will be needing assistance.

The Humphrey Institute is conveniently located on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota's Minneapolis campus. The Humphrey Center is bordered by 19th Avenue South and Washington Avenue. A circular drive in front of the building is available for drop-off and unloading.
Parking: Paid parking is available on the University of Minnesota campus. The 19th Avenue Ramp is located just across the street from the Humphrey Center. In case spaces in this ramp are full, the 21st Avenue Ramp is just south of the adjacent Carlson School of Management.
