The Responsibility to Protect: A Community Event

The Responsibility to Protect: A Community Event
What exactly is the responsibility to protect, who does it apply to and how has it affected the international community and mass atrocity prevention efforts? Find out these answers and much more at our Partners Call on January 14th at 1pm Eastern Standard Time.
Keith Porter, the Director of Outreach and Policy at the Stanley Foundation, and Jennifer Smyser, the Program Officer also from the Stanley Foundation, will join us on the call. We will explore the concept of this international norm developed by the recognition of the global community that more needs to do be done to prevent mass atrocities from ever happening again.
Our Partners Project for January - February 2012 is to put on a movie screening in your community! We are partnering with the Stanley Foundation to provide you with the film Before the Killing Begins: The Politics of Mass Violence, movie posters, an event planning guide, discussion guide, and much more! You will have all the tools you need for an easy-to-plan and successful event where you can connect with people and begin to build a local CGS network in your own community. Email Julia at jstrasser@globalsolutions.org with your address to request your movie-in-a-box toolkit. Download our virtual conference call toolkit on this page to get started right away!
