End Violence Against Women

We've all seen the news. A young woman brutally attacked and killed by a gang of men in Delhi. Youth here in the US making callous comments that have since gone viral about the rape of a young woman in their town. One in three women will be raped or attacked in her lifetime.
Shocking? Absolutely. But we, as global citizens, can stand up and say NO to violence against women. This is an issue that affects us all. It's time to end this global epidemic.
Each of us can make a difference. Whether you've got just a few minutes, or are eager to hit the streets, it's easy to get involved. Read on to find out how!
1. Raise your Voice Help us permanently influence the system by signing our petition urging the Senate to ratify the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) treaty during this 113th Congress. This is an important move to protect women's rights on the long-term.
2. Watch and Share the Webinar. GlobalSolutions.org hosted a free special webinar on February 9th to discuss the global epidemic of violence against women, and what each of us can do to take action.

3. Send us your One Billion Rising rally pictures! We want to see how your rally went! Our DC Rising rally was truly inspiring—we gathered nearly 250 signatures for our petition urging the Senate to ratify CEDAW and we heard amazing speakers on the importance of raising awareness on this global human rights crisis. You can see our album of rally pictures here.
4. Spread the word. Help us flood Facebook and Twitter with key facts about violence against women, and the US role in stopping it worldwide. Collectively, we can change the conversation.
We're aiming for at least 1000 actions from the GlobalSolutions.org community by International Women's Day, on March 8. That's 1000 of us standing up, tweeting, learning and demanding change. Can you join us? Together we can make a more prosperous and safer world for women everywhere.
