The Senate Foreign Relations Committee votes tomorrow on the Law of the Sea. The Committee is likely to approve the treaty, as it should.

I have never testified before Congress. Many friends of mine have, and while they said it is an honor and a thrill, it can also be nerve wracking and - well - in some cases flat out embarrassing. Frank Gaffney, who my colleague Scott Paul has written about due to Gaffney's staunch opposition to the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOS), testified last week before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. As noted by The Washington Post the other day, Mr. Gaffney made a goof:

Yesterday I noted that the PTR did not seem keen to let us respond to their attack on the Law of the Sea Treaty despite the fact that they mentioned Citizens for Global Solutions in their column. By way of contrast, the Washington Times did give us the opportunity to respond to the Gaffney column they ran in their paper yesterday. FYI here is our Wash Times LTE :
